One of my favorite things is going to seminars. I always take away a nugget (or a gold brick) of wisdom that I need. Mark Victor Hansen, Zig Ziglar, James Ray - all this guys have inspired me at one time or another. But I remember one experience very very vividly. It was the day I asked myself ‘why can’t I be on stage sharing what I am passionate about? How did these people get there?’.
Then ‘whap’ - I got it. They gave themselves permission to be up there. They asked for the opportunity, and they went for it. Ah-ha!
Within a year I found myself in front of 300 people, then 700 people doing of all things - asking for money! I gave myself permission to be stage, and the opportunity to speak at a fundraiser for my favorite non-profit showed up. Was I scared? Of course. Did it work out OK? Yes. We raised over $500,000 between two luncheons!
So, I ask you, what is possible for your life? What do you want for yourself, your family, your community?
I encourage you to take a few moments to ask yourself just that. Once you do you’ll be amazed at the opportunities that unfold!

Asking ourselves what we want is perhaps some of the most powerful time we can spend, and often it’s the time we simply don’t take for ourselves.
I wonder how my life would be different had I begun asking (and listening too) my heart’s desire years ago. As I write that, the small voice in my head comes to my defense “Yes, you have! You’ve asked what you want.” Well, in some ways that’s true. And in some ways, I can see times when I could have played bigger.
Oh well, life is about affirming what’s in front of us. It’s about ATTRACTING what we want by creating what we want in our minds. That’s the way we begin to move ahead. It’s not reflecting on the past with “I shoulda”.
Today, ask. Get into pure creation mode. Go for it! Ask! And ask again. Why not play huge and see what happens?
Quote for the day

I am not sure where this comes from, but I am one of those people who likes the tempo of life moving at a fairly fast clip. My sense of urgency regarding things for which I feel passionate can resemble the Tasmanian Devil.
So you can imagine when things are not moving fast, fast, fast, I can get a little, well, grumpy. And for about the last week, that’s exactly what I have been. Being grumpy takes energy - so much that last night I gave up and went to bed about an hour early, and I slept in a half hour past my usual time. Boy, I needed it!
Thank goodness I took the time because something in me has profoundly shifted as a result. Laying in bed this morning, half awake, there were four words running through my head: “Everything in good time”. Huh? What? Who said that? (more…)
Vision Week Q1 2007 underway. I highly recommend the tropics for rest, and rejuvenation. What better way to live an intentional life? Vision week is all about reflecting on past successes, reviewing my 2007 to 2011 goals and intentions and taking the time to expand my vision even further. It’s also that time when I get to ‘get global’ and do really big thinking about my business, my life, my spirituality, my life’s purpose. I love this week and am so grateful for it!
Today I want to share with you another article by a guest author at SuccessConsciousness.com (I encourage you to check out this amazing site). Julie Plenty is the author of 5 Key Ways to Attract Abundance and Prosperity .
Julie’s blog The Essential Connection is worth checking out.
Enjoy.

Today is the first day of Vision Week for Q1 2007! This next week I will share with you resources, people, opportunities and insights grounded in the intention “We’re Having our Best Year Ever”. (This powerful affirmation sits in a frame on my desk.) Coming are posts about vision, leadership, gratitude, success, goal setting, intention, affirmations…. you know, the good stuff!
I have decided to start this weeks posts with Gratitude for one very simple reason; If we are not grateful for what we have, we will not attract what we want.
Cruising the web this morning I came across a GREAT article about Gratitude. The article is by Ken Eikenberry, and was posted on SuccessConsciousness.com (a valuable site in it’s own right).
Part of how I create Vision Week for myself is all about acknowledging my accomplishments, having gratitude for where I am right now, and looking to the future knowing that all my dreams are coming true. A great quote on Joe Vitale’s blog, spoken by a friend of his is this: “I am satified, I just want more”. That’s the essence of gratitude.
Here’s Ken’s article, The Power of Gratitude.
Enjoy.

Two and a half years ago a friend and I started what has become a Mastermind Group of two. Once a quarter we get together and set goals, intentions and rewards for results in all areas of life from Friends and Family to Finance. We are tireless supporters of one another’s big dreams. Her friendship, insights and high level of expectation for her own life uplift and inspire me.
Last year we decided that what had been a lunchtime mastermind meeting should be a WEEK - we just had so many things to talk about, explore and research all in the name of living extraordinary lives. Then, we got really smart and decided that this new Vision Week should be held in somewhere in the tropics.
So, for the second February in a row I am off to the sunshine to dream, plan, read, contemplate, think, sit, relax, rejuvenate, and certainly experience many ah-ha’s, and several breakthroughs. That’s what happen’s when we take the time to listen for our heart’s desire and put in place structures to get there.
Won’t you consider creating a Vision Week, or at least a Vision Day for yourself? Over the next week, stay tuned for updates and ideas about how you can leverage the power of mastermind groups and visioning to design a life you love.
Life is good.

Ok, perhaps I am getting a little redundant with my evangelical view on Vision Boards. But I HAVE to tell you about the coolest thing in my day today.
This morning in preparation for a call with our PR team tomorrow, I found that a national newsstand magazine is considering publishing an article that I wrote. What? I thought to myself. I had to read the memo twice.
While this may not seem significant to you at first, consider this: This magazine is one of a handful on my ‘oh-yeah-I-love-that-magazine. It-would-rock-to-be-featured-in-it” list. Funny isn’t it? Of all the things are we doing on the PR front to share with the world about Affirmagy and our vision to touch the lives of 1,000,000 people (more…)
Jack Canfield continues to make an impact on my life. Listening to “The Success Principles” in the car today after buying new socks at Nordstrom (the gal ringing me up had a hard time believing I wanted 9 pairs of the SAME black trouser sock. After a raised brow, I assured her I was simply a focused person who refuses to spend a minute of time finding mates for socks) I realized it’s been just over 5 years that I wrote my goals for when I would turn 40. I could have never imagined the impact those actions would have on my life today.
#1. Focusing on November 25, 2009 seemed like an eternity in 2001. Now it seems nearly around the corner. Thank goodness I have started setting goals for my 50th in 2019 - it’s on its way!
#2. While I can see the things I intended way back then coming into being, I have increased my “win” exponentially. That is, what I thought was huge then, isn’t so big, so I am shooting even bigger now.
#3. We really really really do get to invent our lives. The sooner we get that, (more…)
Setting goals has been a cornerstone of my success. Since I was about 13, I was dreaming about the car I would drive in high school (a 1965 Mustang, that I still own). Every week in the summertime I would get a copy of Auto Trader, and pour over the pages…. getting smart about what I wanted, and burning an image into my mind. One week before I turned 16, an amazing two-owner, vintage burgundy hardtop was mine. All thanks to my dad (who totally got my vision - more on this later), the power of visualization and a lot of summer jobs. As a teenager that car was my freedom. As an adult it’s a reminder that vision, focus and actions all working in concert get us the things we desire.
Today the Auto Traders of my world are images that I have assembled into a Vision Book and a Vision Board. Seeing images that conjure my heart’s desire - both personally and professionally - make them come alive day to day.
What would your Vision Book and Vision Board look like? It starts with a simple question: What do I want? Once you have an idea, you’ll start seeing images, and hearing ideas that are in alignment with your vision. Grab them and get them in front of you. I promise in doing so your dreams will start to come true.
