The more I get into connecting with ‘mommy blogs’ as I affectionately call them, the more entertained, amused and tickled I am. As a childless-by-choice woman (I heard that at a dinner party recently) I only get to see into this world occasionally. While I do have a dear friend with triplets, she lives several states away and spares me the details. Knowing about the fluids, the bruises, and weird things kids do is enough to make me faint. Yes, I am a whimp.
So it’s with delight that I have I found myself laughing out loud over my laptop reading some of the wittiest, funniest, brightest diatribes posted by some of the smartest women on the planet. Seriously, these women have game. How could they not? The things you learn being a mom. Wow. I would explode.

May 23rd, 2007We’ve been busy at Affirmagy. Spring has sprung and our Baby Blanket Bonanza is beginning to gain steam. Mom’s from all over are entering our contest. We are so excited!
As part of the Law of Attraction, we learn that ‘what we focus on expands’. It’s that funny phenomenon when you fall in love with a red Audi 4 door, and suddenly you see on the road are red Audi 4 door’s.
Well, the same thing just happened to me - with babies. Case in point: Earlier today I was minding my own business online and suddenly I popped onto Parenting Magazine’s website. And, golly, the have a host of contests celebrating our little ones. Who knew! I was so delighted to come across this and be able to share it others. Click here to check it out.

Oh Baby!
May 6th, 2007I have a vision of a generation raised with positive affirmations - the power of words - as an integral part of living a meaningful life. Imagine growing up hearing and reading “I am a true miracle”, “I am filled with unlimited possibilities”, “I am a bright light in the world”. WOW! As a grown up I love the sound of those affirmations.
So we got to thinking about little ones, and decided to launch the Baby Blanket Bonanza contest! Now proud moms and dads can enter photos of their bundles of joy in their favorite blankie for the chance to win $250 and a bundle of Affirmawraps. Plus, for every eligible entry we recieve, Affirmagy will donate $1 to The March of Dimes. Cool, eh?

April 18th, 2007Declaring “I am” is a uniquely human experience. One that we can create for ourselves. Being deliberate about the “I am” statements we think and we say gives us access to designing a life we love.
Imagine a world filled with people living in the power of “I am surrounded by love”, “I am calm and centered”, “I am open minded”, and “I am confident”. Imagine mothers, daughters, fathers and sons, best friends and colleagues sharing the possibility of joy, love, serenity and peace with one another. Wouldn’t that be extraordinary?
Our vision is to be cause in 1,000,000 people choosing to be engaged in the conversation “I am” in such a way that they create a better life for themselves, their family and their community.
That’s why we created Affirmawraps. And why I am so passionate about inviting people to help us literally wrap the world in the good stuff. The more we all focus on it, the more it expands.
So today, let’s turn our attention to the “I am’s” we are expressing throughout the day. And watch how shifting our “I am”, shifts our day. This is such a powerful practice.

One of my favorite things is going to seminars. I always take away a nugget (or a gold brick) of wisdom that I need. Mark Victor Hansen, Zig Ziglar, James Ray - all this guys have inspired me at one time or another. But I remember one experience very very vividly. It was the day I asked myself ‘why can’t I be on stage sharing what I am passionate about? How did these people get there?’.
Then ‘whap’ - I got it. They gave themselves permission to be up there. They asked for the opportunity, and they went for it. Ah-ha!
Within a year I found myself in front of 300 people, then 700 people doing of all things - asking for money! I gave myself permission to be stage, and the opportunity to speak at a fundraiser for my favorite non-profit showed up. Was I scared? Of course. Did it work out OK? Yes. We raised over $500,000 between two luncheons!
So, I ask you, what is possible for your life? What do you want for yourself, your family, your community?
I encourage you to take a few moments to ask yourself just that. Once you do you’ll be amazed at the opportunities that unfold!

April 12th, 2007My dad is so cool. About once a month, he changes the outgoing message on his cel phone to one of his favorite inspirational quotes. I was delighted when I heard his most recent; “Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be.”
In a world that occasionally gives “positive thinking” a bad rap, what was even more delightful was learning who uttered those words. It was our 16th president, Abraham Lincoln.

The Task is to Ask.
March 23rd, 2007Asking ourselves what we want is perhaps some of the most powerful time we can spend, and often it’s the time we simply don’t take for ourselves.
I wonder how my life would be different had I begun asking (and listening too) my heart’s desire years ago. As I write that, the small voice in my head comes to my defense “Yes, you have! You’ve asked what you want.” Well, in some ways that’s true. And in some ways, I can see times when I could have played bigger.
Oh well, life is about affirming what’s in front of us. It’s about ATTRACTING what we want by creating what we want in our minds. That’s the way we begin to move ahead. It’s not reflecting on the past with “I shoulda”.
Today, ask. Get into pure creation mode. Go for it! Ask! And ask again. Why not play huge and see what happens?

All in Good Time

I am not sure where this comes from, but I am one of those people who likes the tempo of life moving at a fairly fast clip. My sense of urgency regarding things for which I feel passionate can resemble the Tasmanian Devil.
So you can imagine when things are not moving fast, fast, fast, I can get a little, well, grumpy. And for about the last week, that’s exactly what I have been. Being grumpy takes energy - so much that last night I gave up and went to bed about an hour early, and I slept in a half hour past my usual time. Boy, I needed it!
Thank goodness I took the time because something in me has profoundly shifted as a result. Laying in bed this morning, half awake, there were four words running through my head: “Everything in good time”. Huh? What? Who said that? Read the rest of this entry »
